Blogging Is Hard

This is like post 26 of the 30 Days of Blogging Challenge, and I have to admit, finding good material to write about for thirty days in a row has turned out to be more challenging than I had anticipated.

The Filthy Fifties is going to be a health and fitness based blog eventually, but I had to get a little diverse in my content in order to meet the criteria of posting every day. Sure I have my other blog, “The Older I Get, The Better I Was”, but in an effort to stay motivated I needed to see a post on this blog every day.

Once the 31 Days of fitness starts on October 1st, I’ll move this blog back to chronicling the efforts of a 53 year old trying to get back into shape, and you can look to my other blog for daily doses of my unique wit an humor (or lack thereof).

But finding new readers is hard and getting people to keep coming back is even harder. So tonight, I’m reflecting back on the things I’ve learned about blogging during this 30 day challenge. Frequency of posting and quality content hopefully will bring new readers, but there are really only two basic rules one needs to follow in order to get their readers to keep coming back:

  1. Never tell your reader everything in one post.
